Manager Arsène Wenger was pleased with the team's 3-0 win over rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The 60-year-old earned his 1000th Premiership point in the latest North London derby since his arrival in 1996.
Two goals from striker Robin van Persie and one more from Francesc Fabregas helped seal the three points for Arsenal which puts them third in the league table behind Manchester United and leaders Chelsea.
Wenger said: "The three points were more important than anything else but I must say it was a game which lacked a little bit of fluency at the start.
"We took advantage of two chances and scored two goals and from then on it was a case of waiting for the third chance, taking it, and keeping the clean sheet.
"We did it all very well. We have played quicker and more fluent but we were efficient and that's what you want in the kind of game like that.
"We don't want to measure that, we want to look at the top of the table. That's where we want to go.
"What pleased me today was that we didn't give any chances away for 90 minutes. Tottenham created very little.
"What is important is that we know if we want to win the Premier League we want to win all our home games and that is why it was important today.
"I believe we took advantage of the shock provoked by the first goal.
"They were a bit surprised and we took advantage straight away.
"When I saw King in front of Fabregas I still thought King could win the challenge but when he managed to slide it through his legs I thought now he has a very good chance to finish it off and that's what happened."
Match pundits and fans alike were wondering why the Frenchman, despite seeing his team 3-0 up, appeared agitated on the touchline.
Wenger explained: "I was, I was because I could not communicate with my players and I was upset with that because I speak, speak, speak and I already had not a fantastic voice because of my cold.
"I knew it was important for the future of the team not to concede a goal today and that's why I got upset with myself because I did not manage to communicate with the team."
