Striker Robin van Persie has further endeared himself to Arsenal fans when he took a sly dig towards the team up the road in the wake of Arsenal's 3-0 win over their local rivals.
Notching his eighth goal of the season, van Persie said: "It always feels good to beat Spurs. It even feels good when we don't play them and they get beaten, so it's especially good when we've played them.
"All week people at the training ground are speaking about this game. Everyone is excited and we are, too."
He feels that local rivals Tottenham Hotspur 'died' after conceding the first of three goals in their 3-0 loss to Arsenal.
van Persie himself scored two goals, but it was captain Francesc Fabregas' amazing solo goal that caught the headlines, coming right after the Dutch international's instinctive opener.
It was a solo goal that Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp dismiss as 'nothing special', but surely if it had been scored at the other end, Redknapp would have been twitching with glee.
van Persie said: "(It was) Cesc's brilliance [that made the goal special].
"Straight from the kick-off (Wilson) Palacios lost the ball, he went past Palacios and through Ledley King.
"To do that you need a lot of technique. Spurs played with the right attitude, good spirit.
"It was a tight, tough first half hour, but from the moment we scored the first goal they died basically."
