When Francesc Fabregas was made club captain last season, many were worried that it may be too much of a responsibility for the 22-year-old Spaniard.
It's safe to say that Thierry Henry's game deteriorated slightly when he started to shoulder the responsibilities of being captain, but Fabregas is insistant that his new role hasn't changed him at all.
If anything, I'm of the opinion that it has improved his game. Cesc's goalscoring tally this season is already approaching double figures, and is (at the time of writing) the club's top scorer.
Fabregas said: "The captaincy hasn't changed me at all. My team-mates have done a great job for me as well, to be honest.
"They showed me they believe and help me with everything. There has never been any trouble so I am very happy with how things are going."
The issue of how Cesc became captain is always one for discussion. Previous captain William Gallas was stripped of the captaincy when some 'dressing room secrets' were exposed in his biography.
But the Gallas of 2009/10 is a different player, enjoying his game and revelling in his partnership with new signing Thomas Vermaelen.
For Fabregas, it is a thing of the past. He added: "The issue with William is gone for us. We don't think about it anymore and are happy with the way things are going at the moment.
"The dressing room has always been really together and kept believing.
"Even if we didn't win anything last year, we were really close and in all the competitions right until the end.
"So the mood in the dressing room is always really positive."
