With November approaching the mid-way mark, manager Arsène Wenger may be forgiven for wanting to breathe a sigh of relief after looking at us climb up to second in the Premiership.
November is usually a horrible month for the Gunners, with the form book displaying about 50 per cent of losses, and not as many wins. In 1998/99, we lost 4 out of 7 games, with only 1 win. It was worse in 2000/01, with us losing 5 out of our 7 matches, winning only one.
It was originally thought that the foreign players at Arsenal had trouble adapting to the change in the weather, but the form book hasn't been as bad in recent times.
The 2005/06 season saw Arsenal win 6 out of 6 games in November, and this season has been so far, with 2 out of 2 wins on the board.
So it's perfectly understandable why when November passes, our 60-year-old manager is breathing a sigh of relief.
Wenger said: "Traditionally November has not been a good month for us.
"But I explain that by the fact we had more injuries - it is the first period when they kick in.
"It depends on the fixtures too - you can have two or three difficult games in November. You have decisive games in the Champions League and the players go on international duty.
"Now we have that break and all the players fly away so let's hope they all fly back in good shape.
"After that we go to Sunderland (on 21st November) and that is always a difficult place to go."
