Merida committed to staying with Arsenal

Midfielder Fran Merida has re-iterated his commitment to Arsenal, saying that it is the only club on his mind.

Manager Arsène Wenger revealed last week that the Spaniard had agreed to a new contract at the club, but had yet to sign it.

The boss blamed 'disturbances from external sources', and it's been reported that Spanish club Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the midfielder, who's appearances have only been limited to Carling Cup matches.

Merida said: "I am committed to Arsenal and I am only thinking of playing there.

"I feel I am improving every day and the manager is now involving me more in first team training."
