Defender Thomas Vermaelen says that he has yet to produce his best for Arsenal, despite the Belgian captain fast becoming a favourite with the Emirates faithful.
Vermaelen is turning out to be another one of manager Arsène Wenger's bargain buys, a goal-scoring centre-back with a good left foot and aggressive defending reminiscent of Martin Keown.
But the former Ajax captain says that he still has much to improve on.
He said: "I'm not satisfied yet, there are improvements I can make. I am learning from other players and the coaching staff and I want to improve every single day.
"I am very very pleased with my start. But the most important thing is to keep playing like this, and we are still early in a long season.
"I'm definitely not worried about scoring – I haven't scored for a few games now anyway.
"For me, and any defender, I am more pleased with a clean sheet than scoring myself."
