Defender Mikael Silvestre says that he feels the team lacked commitment against Sunderland last weekend, when the team lost 1-0.
Manager Arsène Wenger also criticised his team, saying that they were not mentally prepared for the tough trip up to the Stadium of Light.
Silvestre, who came on as a substitute in Tuesday's Champions League win over Standard Liege, said: "I think at Sunderland we lacked a little bit of commitment.
"You drop one per cent or two per cent and that's it, you get punished. Against Standard we wanted to rectify this and make sure we got the victory.
"The Sunderland defeat tells us that we can't rest and we have to keep going.
"We must treat every game the same no matter if it's after an international break or in December when you have a game a week every week.
"The application has to be the same and the determination."
The Frenchman might be called upon to fill in the defensive void left by William Gallas, who had to go off injured in the 2-0 win over Standard Liege on Tuesday.
