Arsène Wenger has suggested that young midfielder Jack Wilshere could benefit from a loan move to Burnley.
Clarets boss Owen Coyle is keen on taking the young Englishman to Turf Moor for the rest of the season, but Wenger will only let his player go if he gets regular football.
"My response [to Coyle] is that it is possible under the condition that he plays," said the Frenchman.
"For us Jack Wilshere is in a period where he needs to play.
"Burnley is a very good club that I respect. They play good football but first of all Jack must want to do it and then we need to have a good hope that he will play if he goes somewhere on loan."
The boss is worried, however, that with Arsenal's ever-growing injury list, Wilshere will be missed too badly at the Emirates.
"I like the idea but at the moment I must say we are a bit short," he continued. "Jack is involved with us for nearly every game."
Anyone else disappointed that we haven't seen more of this kid? Sure, we complain that our side is too young and inexperienced, but sometimes you can see that a kid really has something to offer, as was evident quite early on with Cesc Fabregas.
Call me crazy, but it seems already like Wilshere has more in his locker than the one-trick-pony Walcott.
A loan move would obviously be a good experience for him, and Burnley do play some good attacking football, but I think he could easily get more playing time here.
