Goalkeeper Manual Almunia has urged his team mates to continue to improve their game after the 3-0 win against Hull City yesterday.
The Spaniard made a brilliant save from Giovanni's penalty, preventing Hull from equalising at the start of the second half. Hunt then missed scoring with an open goal from the rebound.
With the team now 2 points behind second-placed Manchester United and with a game in hand, the title race looks set to be heating up as we enter the crucial Christmas period.
Almunia, who has come under heavy criticism this season for the team's defensive frailties, said: "At the end the important thing for us today was the three points.
"But three points for confidence and from now on we have to find a better way to play and make beautiful football as before.
"I was lucky today and I had luck to save the penalty and help my team.
"Geovanni has a lot of quality, maybe it wasn't the best penalty for him but I admire him a lot, he is a great player and has great quality."
