Manager Arsène Wenger has heaped praise on midfielder Aaron Ramsey after the Welshman made an impressive debut in the match against Portsmouth last night.
Arsenal ran out 4-1 winners at Fratton Park and Ramsey was one of the contributors, making it 3-0 in the second half with a well taken shot from distance.
Ramsey, who was in the side covering for the injured Cesc Fabregas, was singled out by Wenger as one that is still improving and specifically mentioned his versatility on the pitch.
It is this versatility that makes him a different player from Fabregas, and why the two players' games cannot be compared.
Wenger said: "Ramsey was very good.
"Aaron is a player who can play right-back, left wing, central midfielder. He is an all-rounder.
"Cesc is a playmaker. But what they have in common, when they are on the pitch, is personality to say: 'I'm not scared to play. I'm ready to play the game.'
