Manager Arsène Wenger has backed his team to win the Premiership title after they dispatched Portsmouth 4-1 to go within 4 points of leaders Chelsea, with a game in-hand (against Bolton).
The team looked out of it when they lost to Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates, and have already posted 4 losses on the board before going into New Year.
But Chelsea's own poor form combined with a good set of results from the Gunners (if only we had beaten Burnley) has allowed the team to creep back into the title race, and Wenger is saying that his team have all the necessary ingredients to win it.
Wenger said: "We are up for it and we believe, no doubts.
"The commitment is there, the talent is there and the focus is there too.
"We will give it absolutely everything in the new year, we will fight for it. If we don't believe, nobody will.
"We looked like a team that was ready for it tonight and that's why we won the game, because Portsmouth are a good team."
