Defender Bacary Sagna hailed manager Arsène Wenger's decision to send on both Abou Diaby and Samir Nasri into the fray against West Ham yesterday.
The duo replaced the tiring Fran Merida and Jack Wilshere, and Diaby's introduction helped shore up an Arsenal midfield that was in danger of being overrun by a well-organised opposition side.
Possession started coming Arsenal's way in the second half and Nasri's flair provided the team with an extra edge in attack, with Aaron Ramsey and Eduardo eventually sealing the team's progress to the next round.
The Gunners will now take on Stoke City away. Sagna said: "It's always good when substitutes come on the pitch and can change the game.
"It happened with Cesc Fabregas two weeks ago and now it has happened again. It's good for the team.
"[Getting Stoke away] is tough but like today we have to go there to win.
"We have to think about the Final and about winning this competition."
