Arsène Wenger has confirmed that Denilson will return to the Arsenal side against Bolton on Wednesday, and that he will fill the vacant defensive midfield position left by Alex Song.
Song played his last game for Arsenal against West Ham before leaving for international duty with Cameroon, but Wenger is confident that Denilson can do a good job in his place.
"Denilson is an all-rounder, but he can play in this position and will come in for Song," said the Frenchman.
"He is very strong in reading the game and winning the ball back.
"Denilson has 150 games in the Premier League. People do not notice how important he is for us and he can play in every single position in midfield."
The manager ruled out a move for former Gunners captain Patrick Vieira, reaffirming his confidence in his young midfielders.
"I will respect Patrick forever for what he has done and what he has achieved here," Wenger said.
"We have young players in his position and are not in a real need to bring players in this position."
