Senderos loan move confirmed

A loan move for defender Philippe Senderos has been confirmed by Everton, who will take the 24-year-old for the rest of the season.

Senderos has made no secret of his desire to move away from the Emirates for regular first team football, but was keen to stay in the Premiership.

We understand that there were a number of clubs who were willing to take the Swiss international but Senderos chose Everton, perhaps with a mind to moving permanently in the summer after a similar move last year broke down.

The formalities of the transfer will be finalised in the next 48 hours and Senderos will be on Merseyside this afternoon to watch his new team in action against Birmingham in the FA Cup fourth round.
