Arsène Wenger will need a new striker for the Man Utd game, never mind the rest of the season.
The boss confirmed that Eduardo will sit out the top-of-the-table clash this Sunday with a hamstring strain.
This leaves the Frenchman short of options upfront, with Robin van Persie out for the season, and Nicklas Bendtner lacking fitness after just returning from injury himself.
He confirmed: "Eduardo has a hamstring strain, a small one. But, for Sunday [Manchester United at home], he will be out."
Wenger could also face a crisis in defence for the visit of United, with Thomas Vermaelen going off injured against Aston Villa.
The manager admits he doesn't yet know the full extent of the injury, but early signs are not good.
He said: "Thomas Vermaelen we don't know. There will be an x-ray. He is on crutches and it is a fibula injury. We have to check tomorrow morning if it is just a nerve or a broken bone."
Wenger will be pleased with the performance of Sol Campbell at Villa Park, but admits his veteran defender might not be ready for another big game this week.
He said: "Sol has not played for six months and just in three days he had two big games, so I will have to see how he recovers."
