Manager Arsène Wenger admits that his team will need 'something special' to stay in this season's title race after seeing his side hammered 3-1 by Manchester United.
The result was even more disappointing seeing as we had essentially what was our first choice midfield and defence, yet still managed to concede 3 goals to a United side that was forced to play their second string defence and midfield.
Arsenal are now 5 points behind Chelsea who have played a game less, and have seen their goal difference drop behind the front runners in the league table.
Wenger said: "It is a massive blow and a massive disappointment. But we have to recover from that, that is part of top-level football.
"I believe we had no cohesion defensively or offensively. The players wanted to win, they are really down. This team has spirit, a good attitude mentally, and it is very difficult to say straight away after the game why we were not at all at our level. We were naive.
"We have to focus on delivering a completely different performance [at Chelsea next Sunday] because today we were never close in our marking and you do not win big games like that.
"We need something special now to stay in the race, of course. I am conscious of that."
