Arsène Wenger beware, because Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has no intention of letting the much coveted 3rd place in the league slip away.
The Arsenal manager spoke earlier this week about the achievements of finishing 3rd over wasting time trying to win trophies, and Liverpool want to make the race for 3rd a little more interesting with a win at the Emirates tomorrow.
With fire in his eyes, Gerrard said: "It's a massive game for us and the target is to try to get a result where we can push on and try to get third place.
"We're just taking each game as it comes. Obviously at the end of the season our target is a top-four finish but if Arsenal give us any sniff of catching them then we want to grab it and hopefully that will be on Wednesday night."
The midfielder went on to talk about trivial, irrelevant things such as tactics and his side's approach to the game tomorrow. Look away now, Arsène.
He added: "We've certainly got to do what Manchester United and Chelsea have done to them, which is try to give them very little space and hit them on the counter-attack,"
"Everyone knows that if you give Arsenal time and space they will absolutely crucify you."
Crucify you we will, Stevie. We're targetting at least 75% possession tomorrow night. Be afraid, be very afraid.
