Forward Andrey Arshavin has said that there is a chance he will be back for the Premiership match against Sunderland, and that he would definitely miss the Champions League match against Porto.
The Russian international suffered a slight hamstring injury in the 1-0 win against Liverpool.
The news leaves Arsenal in a bit of a pickle, with only Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner as recognised strikers to call from to lead the attack.
Speaking to Sport ExpressArshavin said: "If all goes well, I get back on the pitch as early as the next Premier League match against Sunderland.
"However, the next game against Porto in the Champions League I will miss."
