Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis moved to calm any worries Arsenal fans might have over the involvement of American tycoon and businessman Stan Kroenke at the club.
There is concern that should Kroenke successfully launch a takeover bid for Arsenal, the scenario would be one of a owner interfering with matters on the pitch, such as those seen at other clubs where players have been transferred in or out without the manager's consent.
But Gazidis says that Kroenke knows where his boundaries are and would not think of interfering with manager Arsène Wenger's work on the football pitch.
Gazidis said: "Shareholders are likely to be people that subscribe to our model and Stan Kroenke obviously does. He has been a significant contributor to the board.
"He is a sports fan who happens to have enough money to invest in sports teams who doesn't have a massive ego.
"He believes that the manager should be in charge of what happens on the pitch and his role is to support the manager - not to make a big fuss about his involvement."
