Manager Arsène Wenger has admitted that captain Cesc Fabregas needs a miracle if he is to return in time to face Hull City this weekend.
The Frenchman sarcastically said that Fabregas had less than a percent chance of making a return against the Tigers, and it looks like Samir Nasri will again deputise for the Spaniard. After impressing against Porto, I doubt many will be complaining...
Wenger said: "His chances of playing are 0.5 per cent - that means unless a miracle happens, he will not play.
"At the moment, Cesc is out of Saturday's game. We have a little doubt about [Tomas] Rosicky (groin), but we will check that tomorrow morning.
"Nobody else is back, but we will lose [Alex] Song, because he is suspended."
Wenger also called on his team to maintain their focus and hunger this weekend, as the season draws to a close and every game is essentially like a Cup final.
He is warning against complacency from his side, after their high of beating Portugese side Porto 5-0 in the Champions League. Whilst praising their performance, there is a need to come back down to Earth and start the process again this weekend.
Wenger added: "I believe we focused on the way we want to play football and the way we want to behave. As long as we respect that I believe we have a good chance to win our games.
"We will not feel down because we won 5-0, but we have as well to be realistic, keep our feet on the ground, make sure the hunger is there as we just talked about.
"In the Premier League every game is as dangerous as [it is in] Europe. We have to make sure we prepare well for Hull now."
