Samir Nasri says that he is fearing for his World Cup spot in the French national team because of the position he plays for his club.
Nasri has mostly been deployed as a winger, Wenger alternating between him and Theo Walcott.
At periods last season though, Nasri has been used as a defensive midfielder and this season, he has been fulfilling the role of playmaker in the absence of captain Cesc Fabregas.
However, it is this versatility that Nasri fears might harm his chances for a place in the French national team, as his specialty is in the centre of the park.
Nasri said: "It's true that when I come back into the middle, that's where I feel most effective.
"I will play anywhere for my club and I just hope it doesn't cost me.
"It's very tough to see you're not involved for your country but I'm convinced I will be given a chance.
"There is still time before the World Cup squad is named.
"In recent weeks I feel I have been getting back towards my best form and that is very important with the end of the campaign we have in store."
