Alex Song admits he finds it difficult being out of the Arsenal team and watching matches on the TV.
The midfielder has been in fine form for Arsenal this season, but has had to sit out the last two Premier League matches through suspension.
The Cameroon international insists that although he follows the team much like a supporter would during his absence, he would much rather be on the field playing.
He spoke of his excitement when Nicklas Bendtner scored late on against Hull and told
"It is very difficult to watch your friends when you don't play. But I had confidence in my team. We have the players to come in and do well."
Song has been pleased with Arsenal's late goals this season, and believes there is a new-found mental strength within the Gunners' camp this year.
He said: "Now we are in a strong position and we will fight in the games that are left.
"The mentality has changed for us. Everyone has in their head that we need to do something this year. It is very important for us.
"The manager trusts us to do the job. If the referee says we have four minutes or two minutes left then the boss says 'don't panic, be confident and play'. That means if the opposition team drop we have the chance to score.
"If the game is not finished we know we can score at anytime."
