Captain Cesc Fabregas has said that being drawn against former club Barcelona in the Champions League quarter finals is no different than being drawn against any other club.
There is speculation that Fabregas may feel a tinge of nostalgia when he lines-up on the pitch with former team mates such as Lionel Messi, or even when he plays again at the Nou Camp, but the captain denies this, saying that he will treat it as any other game - one that he is determined to win.
Fabregas said: "If we had been drawn against Bordeaux or Lyon we would have taken it the same way. Barcelona is a great team, but we always go with the same mentality and that is to win.
"If you want to win this competition, you have to beat everyone who is coming."
But before he can be drawn on the topic of facing his former paymasters, Fabregas reminds us that there is a more important match to be won, and that is against Birmingham City this weekend.
Fabregas said: "At the moment we have won nothing. We are not thinking about being champions. We are only thinking about Birmingham next week.
"There is a lot of time to think about Barcelona. Our first priority is Birmingham and that it is the sign of champions, taking things game by game."
After yesterday's results, we remain second in the league table, two points behind leaders Manchester United who beat Liverpool 2-1. Chelsea drew 1-1 with Blackburn Rovers, and stay third but have a game in hand.
