Song: It is important to win trophies
Alex Song has urged Arsenal fans to believe in him and the team, saying that they can only get better and that they are very close to winning a trophy.
However, that trophy is unlikely to come this season after we failed to capitalise on Chelsea's defeat to Spurs over the weekend, our own 3-2 embarrassing defeat to Wigan making sure of that.
Speaking to The News of the World, Song urged the fans to continue trusting manager Arsène Wenger and his charges, and that it is his dream to win a trophy in England.
The Cameroon international said: "Of course, it is important to win trophies but, remember, we are still a very young team.
"We know our fans want a trophy and we are very close to winning something.
"My message to our fans is: 'Believe in us. This team will get better.'
"I am at the right club. Forget Barcelona, Arsenal is the best club.
"Arsenal have given me everything and I love this place. If I had to leave I would break down and cry. It's still my dream to win the league here."
