Lukasz Fabianski is hoping to make the most of his run in the team in the last few games of the season.
Arsenal have had problems with goalkeepers all season, with Almunia, Fabianski and Mannone all making high profile errors that have cost the team goals.
Almunia looks set to miss the rest of the season through injury, and Fabianski knows he has to take the opportunity to impress his manager.
He told Arsenal TV Online: "It was good to finally keep a clean sheet [against Man City], that was my first this season.
"It's been frustrating for me, but I'm happy the boss still believes in me and is giving me a chance to prove myself. I just want to take those chances and show I'm good enough for Arsenal."
After losing three games in a row, Arsenal earned a welcome point at home to Man City, but Fabianski admits he was hoping for more from the game, and that he was not impressed with City's negative tactics.
He said: "I don't know if it was a good point, we all wanted to win the game. I think at the end of the day we are all slightly disappointed just with a draw.
"We were expecting that they would not play with two strikers. Usually they push forward a lot but maybe they were happy with a draw today."
The result all but confirms a third place finish for the Gunners, which would mean automatic qualification for next season's Champions League, but Fabianski says it's frustrating to only finish third having been so close to the top for so long.
"That's a small improvement from last season, but this season we were very close to being top. It's a small improvement but we expect more."
