Andrey Arshavin has been in the news a lot this week, stating his love for Spanish giants Barcelona, and admitting his concern with this year's injury crisis at the club.
The little Russian magician has annoyed (to say the least) manager Arsène Wenger, who tried to deflect attention from the £15 million signing by saying that his comments could have been taken out of context.
Arshavin himself has now moved to set the record straight through official channels, in the hope that nothing is lost in translation.
Arshavin said: "I respect the club and I am happy that I am a part of it. I am very grateful to the Arsenal fans, who love me.
"I am often translated wrongly. If I talk to the English press, there is no problem but when I say something in Russia, some special news agency takes it, translates it and sells these quotes.
"During the process of interpretation they translate my words as they see fit. I find this unpleasant because people might think I said something that, in fact, I never said."
Maybe he should stop giving so many interviews and focus on improving his game for next season. Something to ponder, Andrey.
