According to Arsène Wenger, Theo Walcott deserves to be included in the 23-man squad which will represent England at the this year's World Cup.
Walcott has been to the prestigious tournament before, when he was a surprise last minute inclusion in then England manager Sven Goran-Eriksson's 2006 squad, but never played a competitive game.
Wenger believes that Walcott has done enough this season to warrant a place in manager Fabio Capello's squad, and admits that it will be a major setback if the 21-year-old doesn't make the cut for South Africa.
Wenger said: "As much as it was a little bit of a present last time [in 2006], this time it would be a blow.
"He is improving and he is still only 21. For me he has become more of a man this season, more responsible tactically and he is going the right way.
"He had a good start [to the season] after he was stopped by injuries and after two months I believe he is on the way to efficiency."
