Former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn believes it is a big summer for Gunners boss Arsène Wenger.
Arsenal have had a poor end to the season, with Lukasz Fabianski being on the end of a lot of criticism for his part in recent defeats.
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal have been linked with a move for a new goalkeeper, and Winterburn agrees that that is a position that needs strengthening.
He said: "Wenger won't be swayed by public opinion, but the goalkeeper position is still a very interesting one at Arsenal ahead of the summer.
"Gianluigi Buffon? He's a great keeper and perhaps that is the kind of name fans have been looking for Wenger to bring in since Jens Lehmann left.
"Arsenal will win on Sunday and finish third, and then the transfer speculation will begin again. But this year we know Arsène simply has to buy in the summer - and buy well."
The former left-back watched Arsenal's latest defeat at Blackburn, and was surprised at how poor the overall level of performance was.
He said: "Arsenal's minds looked to have gone after those two defeats at Wigan and Spurs, and now it looks like their legs have gone as well looking at the defeat to Blackburn. They just can't wait for the season to end now.
"While it was the defending that raised the most eyebrows at Ewood Park, Arsenal's attacking play was very poor. They just didn't pass or move with the kind of fluidity we are used to.
"But it was hard to look past the way Arsenal decided to defend those set-pieces. I just couldn't believe the way the defenders were trying to mark goal-side, it meant they just got in the way of Fabianski rather than helping him."
