Arsenal fans wanting the manager to replace goalkeeper Manuel Almunia will be interested in knowing that Fiorentina keeper Sebastien Frey has admitted that he is unsure of staying at Fiorentina next season.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a few seasons now, but a transfer has never materialised. With current number one Manuel Almunia's future at the club in doubt, manager Arsène Wenger could perhaps make a move for Frey this summer.
Frey said: "I have spoken with Diego Della Valle (Fiorentina's owner) about my future. I will speak again with him after the holidays.
"I have a contract until 2013 but sometimes in life, new motivations are necessary.
"Perhaps finding new challenges doesn't necessarily mean leaving, it could also mean that I could stay provided the team is reinforced.
"Next season we will not play in Europe and that is why we need a strong team to be at the highest level in Serie A.
"This season I have seen things that hurt me, our fans that go 10 minutes before the end of the match for example.
"I can't say whether I will go or I will remain here, but I am thinking very much. Me at Juventus? Let's speak about other things."
Meanwhile, the transfer saga over Cesc Fabregas is rumbling on, with the press trying its best to keep the rumour going to sell papers.
But with most reports speculating that striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be part of a player plus cash deal, the Swede's reluctance to move to England may prove to be a bit of a stumbling block.
The 28-year-old, who moved to Barcelona from Inter Milan last season, but didn't exactly set La Liga on fire, said: "England doesn't feel close. I don't like rain."
Message to Barcelona: We'll have Messi, thanks.
