Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has said that international team mate Cesc Fabregas is completely focused on having a good World Cup campaign with Spain.
The former Manchester United player revealed that the Arsenal captain is not allowing transfer speculation in the press to get to him, and is allowing others to help decide his future for him.
With Barcelona looking like their ready to Barcelona-Arsenal-are-not-selling-Fabregas.html">concede defeat in their bid to sign Fabregas, it may be that this transfer saga will be over sooner rather than later.
Of course, Pique doesn't hide his desire to see Fabregas play for the Catalan club, and was part of a similar transfer from an English to Spanish club himself.
But Pique says that it's not fair to draw any comparisons with his move from Manchester United. Well, firstly, there is no transfer for Fabregas, but also Pique wasn't the most important member of the Man Utd team at the time.
Pique said: "Cesc is very focused on the World Cup and the national team. He knows his future is being decided, but he's calm because it is others who have to resolve his transfer to Barca.
"I'm keen [for Fabregas to join for Barca], he's a friend and also a great footballer. I have the fortune of being able to enjoy his company in the national team and it would be a pleasure to enjoy it everyday at Barca as well.
"My transfer from Manchester United is a different situation. Cesc is more important at Arsenal than I was at United.
"I didn't play as much as I would have liked and in this case it was easier to open the door for me to leave. You can understand Arsenal and the situation of [Arsène] Wenger."
