Arsenal and Barcelona are all currently involved in long negotations involving the transfer of Cesc Fabregas, according to Martin Keown.
The former Arsenal defender is convinced the current club captain will be leaving England for Spain this summer.
He believes negotations between the two clubs could be slow, as Barca don't want to pay too much for a player who has roots with them.
Keown said: "What we are seeing at the moment are long, protracted, drawn-out negotiations between Arsenal and Barca.
"Arsenal are showing their early position and Barcelona are looking to get him for as cheap as they can."
The 43-year-old added that it would be pointless for Arsène Wenger to try and keep Fabregas at the club if he is unhappy.
However, he believes it would also have been difficult for the Spaniard to request a move away from a club that has done a lot for him.
He said: "If Fabregas' body language is wrong, he's such an important figure, then he has to go. We trust in Wenger to make the right decision for the football club.
"The move to Barcelona is something that has been in his mind for some time. He wants to go back to where he began, but at the same time he wants to be respectful to Arsenal and to Arsène who has nurtured him through.
"It must have been difficult for him to see Arsène Wenger and ask for the move."
