Sol Campbell has some harsh words for England boss Fabio Capello after he failed to make England's World Cup squad.
The likes of Rio Ferdinand, Matthew Upson, Ledley King and Jamie Carragher were picked ahead of the Arsenal man, and due to a mixture of poor fitness and poor performances this season from those players, Campbell believes he was the in-form man and should have been picked.
The former Spurs and Portsmouth defender made a shock return to Arsenal in January, but was one of the team's best players in the closing stages of the season.
The 35-year-old is not sure yet whether he will be wanted by Arsenal next season, but is angry that he wasn't wanted by England this summer.
He said: "I would have put my heart and soul into playing for England again. The way I have been playing for Arsenal, don't you think I should be? I do, for sure.
"Surely, you pick people in the groove and I was back in the groove - and fit too.
"Instead, Capello picked a couple of half-fit players. It fell right for them. Not for me.
"Not only that, Capello has gone for one centre-half who didn't have a very good season and another who just missed out on relegation."
Despite his age, Campbell believes his experience would have been invaluable for England in South Africa.
He added: "I have been playing with England teams since I was 15-years-old. I have won 74 England caps - been there, got the T-shirt - and it's experience that counts at this level as well."
