Van Persie helps Holland progress to quarter finals

Striker Robin van Persie helped the Netherlands progress to the quarter finals of the World Cup finals in South Africa.

van Persie, who was playing as the lone central striker for the Dutch, almost added to his tally of one goal at the tournament, but provided the assist for team mate Wesley Sneijder to score and make it 2-0.

Arjen Robben opened the scoring for the Dutch.

Slovakia, the only team England have beaten at the World Cup, put up a spirited performance and scored a penalty literally at the end of the match.

Holland will now face number one seeds Brazil in a mouth watering clash on Friday afternoon at Nelson Mandela Bay.
