New Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has conceded that Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas may not be joining the Catalan club this summer their offers are not being considered.
Apparently there is some bad blood between the two clubs, and the Barcelona.html">incident Carlos Puyol and Gerard Pique pulled on Fabregas during their World Cup celebrations wouldn't have helped either.
However, Rosell is still determined to bring the 22-year-old back to the club he left when he was a teenager, promising that the Catalan giants will try again next summer.
Rosell said: "Arsenal feels very hurt by Barca.
"They don't want to listen to offers or sell and they are not putting the player (Fabregas) on the market.
"There was a strong dispute a few months ago and they have not forgotten it.
"He (Fabregas) will arrive, even if it is not now, it will be next year. We will see."
It's interesting how Barcelona think they can afford Fabregas, when their initial €30 million offer was categorically turned down.
They have failed to pay their players and staff for June, and have applied for a €150 million loan to help ease their financial troubles.
It could be that Rosell has been told by his accountants that Barcelona cannot afford Fabregas this year, and that the purse strings might be looser next year.
