Eduardo has allegedly signed for Shakhtar Donetsk

There are reports circulating on the web within the Arsenal blogger community that Eduardo da Silva has signed for FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

The fee is thought to be around the £7 million mark.

Blogger gunnerblog tweeted the news this afternoon, but did say that he was waiting for confirmation on the transfer.

Eduardo, affectionately known as 'Dudu' by the Emirates faithful, never fully regained the form that saw him become one of the more deadly strikers in the Premier League.

The Brazilian suffered a career threatening injury caused by Birmingham City's Martin Taylor, and took about a year to recover before being able to train again.

The arrival of new striker Marouane Chamakh put doubt on Dudu's future at the club, but it seems that the extensive physical challenges of the Premier League has convinced Dudu to leave for a new challenge.

If the news is true, Arsenal Mania wishes Eduardo all the best in his career with Shakhtar Donetsk.
