Following on from his comments last week, Gaël Clichy has once again stressed the need for Arsenal to improve this season.
Arsenal put in a strong title challenge, but ultimately fell away in the final few games, leaving them in third place.
Clichy believes that Arsenal ultimately conceded too many goals to win the title, and hopes Arsène Wenger will fix the defensive problem this summer.
The manager has already brought in centre-back Laurent Koscienly from Lorient, but with four other central defenders leaving the club, Clichy believes Wenger might need to sign more players for the backline.
He told Arsenal.com: "The boss is clever enough to bring in players who will add some more to the team.
"Of course we can always improve and that's what we want to do. As a unit, as a team, we want to be better defensively, and we know that if we defend well we'll attack better.
"We have to work, we still have a few weeks ahead of us to improve and we will see when the season starts. Like I said the feeling is good and I really hope we can do something this year."
