Manager Arsène Wenger has said that he was happy with the pre-season performances of his team. Arsenal retained the Emirates Cup after a 3-2 win over Celtic yesterday.
Goals from Carlos Vela, Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna gave us a 3-0 lead, before we started tiring and Celtic hit back with 2 goals in the last 15 minutes.
It made for a tense finish, but we hung on for the win to finish top of the pile from the weekend's fixtures with 8 points.
The Frenchman admitted that his side was still regaining full match fitness and were not ready yet for the new season. We take on Liverpool in the season's opener.
Of course, it also helped that we didn't suffer any serious injuries, given our luck in that department at the moment.
Wenger said: "I think it's a positive weekend because we have no big injuries and played quite well, seen two new players and some good young players.
"I think overall in the first half we controlled the game and yesterday and today you could see that physically and mentally we are not able to maintain the concentration for 90 minutes.
"In both games we suffered in the last 20. I believe it's down to the fact that we work very hard and are not completely ready."
Arsenal play Liverpool at Anfield on 15 Aug, live on Sky Sports.
