Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere is looking forward to making an impact in the first-team this season.
The 18-year-old could be in line for a start for the Gunners as they travel to Anfield on the opening day of the Premier League season without their skipper Cesc Fabregas.
Wilshere, who normally plays wide, has been used in the centre in pre-season, and he believes that is where Arsène Wenger sees him playing in the future.
He said: "The boss sees me as a few options, but he thinks I will end up in the middle, so he is trying me out there in pre-season.
"A couple of seasons ago I broke into the team, then went out on loan last season - this year, I really want to push on and get some games for Arsenal."
Wenger's side have a difficult start with an away game against Liverpool, but Wilshere is relishing the challenge of showing that Arsenal mean business this year.
He said: "People say it is a hard start, but it is a good start in that we can put our foundations down for the season, to show what we can do.
"We are written off every season because the boss does not want to go out and make big signings.
"But we have got a few new faces in and I think we can push for the title this year."
