Winger Tomas Rosicky has told striker Theo Walcott that he should be ignoring his critics and have faith in his own ability as a footballer.
The England international has come under pressure and criticism since his move from Southampton as possibly the most expensive English teenage player.
It is hoped that last week's hat trick against Blackpool is a sign of things to come from Walcott this season, though Rosicky is hoping that the young striker cum winger is not allowing the criticism to affect him.
Rosicky said: "I just hope Theo doesn't play football to answer his critics.
"I think the best way is to go out and enjoy his football and this is always what has worked for me and I hope he will be like this as well.
"I don't think he is playing football to answer some critics. Let's go out and enjoy the game. I think he enjoyed it on Saturday!"
