Stoke City have written to the Football Association, the Premier League and Arsenal over manager Arsène Wenger's comments about Stoke player Ryan Shawcross.
Shawcross committed a dangerous tackle on Tottenham Hotspur keeper Heurelho Gomes in their 2-1 defeat to the North London side.
Wenger had said: "You cannot say it is football any more. It is more rugby on the goalkeepers than football.
"When you see the way Shawcross kicked Heurelho Gomes, how Robert Huth pushed Gomes in the goal, you cannot say that is football anymore."
Stoke manager Tony Pulis said: "What [Wenger] has said about Ryan is very, very poor."
Shawcross has history with Arsenal, having committed the tackle that broke midfielder Aaron Ramsey's leg in two places in a match last season.
The media then incredulously had defended Shawcross, saying that he 'was not that kind lad'. But it seems that he is that kind of lad, a player who has a history of committing dangerous tackles and putting his fellow professionals at risk.
