Manager Arsène Wenger has moved to allay fears on the injury suffered by striker Robin van Persie in yesterday's 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.
The Dutch international had to be substituted in the first half by new signing Marouane Chamakh after contributing to the opening goal by Theo Walcott.
But the injury-prone 27-year-old has only twisted his ankle, and whilst he will welcomingly miss the upcoming international break, he will be unable to train for 10 days.
Wenger said: "It is a twisted ankle. We will have to check but if we have no bad news, we hope that in 8-10 days he can be okay."
The Frenchman also admitted that there is a slim chance of any more players joining during this transfer window, which means that there is little chance of a new goalkeeper arriving.
Wenger added: "I'm not ruling it out but at the moment I'm not in a position to sign anyone. At the moment, it is all dead.
"No players will be going out domestically. Some could leave and go abroad, for example in Spain and Italy the season hasn't started yet.
"But once the season has started it is important that there is no movement.
"I believe the transfer window should have been over already for a long time. It should stop when the league starts for domestic transfers, internationally it can go on until August 31 because not everybody starts at the same time."
