Manager Arsène Wenger has hailed striker Theo Walcott's return to the England national squad, after being surprisingly left out of Fabio Capello's squad for South Africa.
The 23-year-old is in good form, scoring his fourth goal in two games, currently being tied with midfielder Samir Nasri as the club's top scorer with 5 goals so far.
Walcott, who has come under heavy criticism during his time with the club, has impressed fans and pundits alike with his performances this season.
Wenger reckons the improved form is down to the break Walcott enjoyed during the summer, when most of his team mates were in South Africa representing their countries.
Wenger said: "He had a good pre-season, he is sharp and I am certain he will get a chance now with England.
"So let's hope he will be ready. He is equipped, he is stronger and I think he is calmer in front of goal."
Left back Kieran Gibbs has also been called up to the national team.
The duo will likely be involved ahead of Euro 2012 Qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland, which will take place early in September.
