Walcott stretchered off in Euro qualifier

Striker Theo Walcott has been stretchered off the field after seemingly twisting his ankle in England's Euro 2012 qualifier in Switzerland.

Walcott, who has been enjoying a good spell for Arsenal, scoring 4 goals in 3 games, was taken to hospital for an x-ray as a precaution.

The youngster made a bright start as Wayne Rooney handed England the lead inside 10 minutes, sweeping home a cross from the right flank.

As Wayne Rooney and other England team mates celebrated taking the lead, Walcott was receiving intensive treatment on the pitch, and was eventually taken off on a stretcher.

We'll update as we know more.
