Andrey Arshavin has admitted to feeling frustrated after the Bolton game, as he feels he should have scored.
The Russian forward had some good chances to get a goal, and believes his lack of sharp finishing made the game more difficult for the rest of the team.
The 29-year-old hopes he will find his shooting boots soon, perhaps for the bigger games.
He told his personal website: "I think that if I managed to take my chances in the first half, the margin would have been larger, and the game would have been even easier for us.
"In the second half we scored a goal. And then, after the score became 2-1 in our favor, the game became much easier for us. We were able to control and possess the ball more confidently, to play more calmly. We began to play without risk, started to score one hundred percent goals."
Arshavin refused to credit the Bolton goalkeeper for keeping him at bay, insisting that he could have worked the 'keeper harder.
He said: "No, I can't say that he worked some miracles at the gate. In my case, I think that I was too hasty.
"Well, it remains to believe that I saved those goals for the next important games."
Arshavin added that he thought Alex Song's goal was the pick of the lot on the day, and that he promised before the game that he would score.
Arshavin explained: "Alex Song picked up the ball so masterfully that one could only applaud him. I was there and I saw that moment from such an angle that I'm sure that it would have been impossible to score some other way.
"No sooner said than done, even before the game he promised to score today."
