Chelsea star Florent Malouda is wary of the threat Arsenal will pose to his team this weekend, believing the Gunners have improved since last season.
The Champions completed a relatively easy double over Arsène Wenger's side last campaign, with a 3-0 win at the Emirates and a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, where the two teams will meet again this Sunday.
The Gunners go into the game having suffered a surprise home defeat to West Brom, but Malouda insists Chelsea will have to be at their best to beat an improved Arsenal team.
The Frenchman said: "It will not be easy because Arsenal is a big opponent, even better than last year.
"For us it is important to try and start the game like we did against Marseille. We must impose a high energy rate and try to push them into making mistakes."
Up against Malouda on Arsenal's right-hand side will be full-back Bacary Sagna, who has also stressed the importance of a good display against the reigning Premier League Champions.
He said: "Now we need to stay focused and look forward to the next game, and we have to make something at Chelsea.
"We have to play our football. We know we have the quality to beat them.
"It will be an open game, but it will be about us, not them."
