Gaël Clichy is still hurting from Arsenal's 3-2 home defeat to West Brom last Saturday.
The newly promoted side came to the Emirates and outplayed the Gunners, taking a 3-0 lead with relative ease in the second half.
Arsenal now go to Stamford Bridge tomorrow to face Champions Chelsea, and Clichy insists a repeat of last week's performance will make life very difficult for the team.
He said: "That was a terrible game, very difficult to accept. For some reason the desire was not there and some players were tired...but at this level you can't hide behind tiredness.
"West Brom are a smaller side than Arsenal so we should have won, everybody knows that. But give them credit, they played very well. We have to get our heads down again and get back to work.
"When you play for Arsenal people expect better and I can assure you if we play at Chelsea the way we did against West Brom it will be very difficult indeed."
Meanwhile Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger is wary of the threat Chelsea pose to his side, but believes his players can come out on top, despite the Blues' recent impressive record against them.
He said: "What is important is that we had the ball, that we dominate the game and that we are efficient defensively.
"Nothing is for ever, so we can stop it."
