Sagna won't rush return

Defender Bacary Sagna has said that he has no intention of rushing his return back to the side, admitting that it could be another three more weeks before he is available for selection.

The Frenchman is currently recovering from a thigh injury sustained on his left leg in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea. Sagna is also missing France's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Romania and Luxembourg.

There is some speculation that Sagna could have been fit for Arsenal's clash against Birmingham City this weekend, but the 27-year-old has put those rumours to rest as he has no intention of rushing himself back into action.

That means Sagna could be available for what could be a crucial match against Manchester City, or the London derby against West Ham United at the end of October.

Sagna said: "It's okay. I'm currently in rehabilitation. It will take three weeks. I'll take my time to get back."

The right back has impressed Arsenal fans since arriving at the Emirates, and is one of the first names on manager Arsène Wenger's team sheet in crucial matches.

His injury means that utility man Emmanuel Eboue could be called to substitute at right back, a position which the Ivory Coast international originally started out with in his Arsenal career.
