Arsenal goalkeeping legend David Seaman admits he is puzzled as to why none of Arsenal's current 'keepers seem to be able to perform on the big stage.
Seaman, who left Arsenal in 2003, can understand the fans' frustration at not having a consistent number one at the club since Jens Lehmann was dropped by Arsène Wenger in 2007.
The former England international believes the Gunners' current crop of 'keepers have the ability to succeed, but cannot understand why they are not showing it.
He explained: "They've got some great keepers at Arsenal and it's frustrating for me because I see them in training and I can see what they're capable of. But at the moment they're not fulfilling their potential.
"They're making the odd mistake and because it's Arsenal it's high profile.
"Since I left and Jens [Lehmann] came in they've not really had an established goalkeeper and they've been chopping and changing.
"The fans get frustrated. The amount of times I'm asked, 'when are you going back?' – and that's never, ever going to happen by the way! – but it is frustrating because I see that Almunia and Fabianski, and Vito Mannone and Wojciech Szczesny, are all really good goalkeepers.
"But at the moment they're not showing how good they are."
