Former Arsenal striker Eduardo believes he will be facing Champions League contenders when he returns to the Emirates with new side Shakhtar Donestk.
The Croatian moved from North London to the Ukranian club in the summer, after failing to re-establish himself as a regular starter for Arsenal having recovered from a horror leg-break nearly three years ago.
Eduardo says he has fond memories of his time at the club, and has seen them come close enough in Europe before to suggest this could finally be their year.
He said: "I had some great moments here and have respect for the supporters and Mr Wenger, for the club.
"The Champions League is very difficult for every club, for Manchester United, for Barcelona, for Chelsea.
"Every year Arsenal play the quarter-finals, semi-finals, they just need more luck to play in the final and to win."
Eduardo admits it was difficult to leave a club like Arsenal, but is glad now to be getting first-team football at Shakhtar, and says he feels settled at his new team.
He said: "Of course it was hard to leave. When you spend three years at a club you have great moments, then after that there were some problems with my injury.
"Donetsk is a very nice city and the club is very good, the stadium is one of the best in Europe.
"There are seven or eight Brazilian guys, they help me, the boss also speaks Portuguese and so he can help. I am very happy there."
