Former Arsenal midfielder David Platt does not expect a repeat of Emmanuel Adebayor's goal celebration antics of last season.
Adebayor celebrated a goal against Arsenal in front of the Gunners fans, just months after leaving the club for Manchester City.
Platt, who won the double with Arsenal and is now on the coaching staff at City, believes there was a lot of tension in the fixture last season and that it was simply a one-off from Adebayor.
He explained: "We're talking about an incident that was 14 or 15 months ago. It was his first game against Arsenal after leaving them in the summer and the tension was flying.
"It was a long time ago and we aren't worried about a repeat."
City manager Roberto Mancini was also keen to brush the incident aside, confident that his players are simply focussed on putting on a good performance against Arsène Wenger's side this Sunday.
Mancini said: "It's better to stay calm. This will be a very difficult game because when Arsenal play well they are probably the best team in the Premier League."
Mancini was full of praise for Chelsea before beating them at Eastlands, and has once again talked up Arsenal, whilst playing down talk of his own side being title contenders.
He said: "I don't know if we can be title challengers. Arsenal have played together for many years."
